About CECC

Mission

The mission of Concordia Lutheran Church is to strive to faithfully carry out the Great Commission through the teaching of God’s Word and the administration of the Sacraments. The primary purpose of Concordia Early Childhood Center (CECC) is to carry out that mission, following the words of Jesus, “Let the little children come to me,” by teaching them God’s salvation from the Bible, and how He has woven them into that story through the Gospel.

We are also dedicated to providing quality childcare, focusing on the physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual well-being of the children in our center. Our teachers share Christian values and the love of God through Bible stories and activities within the context of our daily program.

Philosophy

Our philosophy is to view children as little ones who are made in God’s image, with the wondrous ability to learn about his creation, and to grow in the knowledge of salvation, as 2 Timothy 3:15 says, “From infancy you have known the holy scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.”

Curriculum

Our curriculum reflects developmentally appropriate practices as stated in the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards (WMELS). We recognize that each child is a unique individual, and develops at a different rate. Our teachers create themed weekly lesson plans and adjust activities based on the students in their class. For the younger classes we focus on play-based learning.

The preschool classroom has more structures lessons based on the One in Christ curriculum, HighScope Preschool Curriculum, and OWL curriculum.
